Pathfinder combines fantasy and magic in its stories, along with different types of technology. Depending on where the adventure happens, players might engage in a classic medieval battle with a dragon, a shootout in the old west, a fight against cyborgs and aliens, or even hunt vampires and werewolves, among other scenarios.
While it is similar to Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder 2nd Edition has more rules and character building choices. This means it can be a bit more challenging to learn, but it also gives more options for creating unique characters. Pathfinder 2e also has the benefit of all of its rules being available free online.
If players enjoy customizing characters and don't mind managing more details and numbers, they might like Pathfinder 2nd Edition.
