Scholarly and Creative Works of the University of Wisconsin-Superior Community

A selection of works by UWS Faculty, Staff, Students, and Alumni

This guide presents:

  • A selection of original works by UWS faculty, staff, and alumni (including some former faculty and staff), that can be found within the library catalog.
  • A selection of relatively recent original works of current UWS faculty and staff. Emphasis here is generally on items that:
    • engage with local issues/settings
    • (or) feature a pedagogical or curricular focus
    • (or) are very recently published
    • (or) feature extensive collaboration from members of the UWS community
    • (and/or) may be found in the library's holdings or via Open Access

Due to space constraints, typically no more than two scholarly or creative titles per creator are included and publications are generally peer-reviewed. Exceptions may exist for community-engaged or highly local work, work specifically designed for or presented to UWS, or in instances of collaborative work from within the UWS community. Attention is also paid to disciplinary and publications breadth in the guide as a whole. Please note that review articles and theses are not typically included.

Unless otherwise noted, entries are roughly in alphabetical order by last name of UWS creator.

For more UWS publications, see the Curated CollectionAdditional works may also be located through additional searches, such as in the library catalog, via Google Scholar or by searching online for an individual's C.V. or webpage.

This is a living guide begun by A. Barbour in winter of 2025. It is anticipated it will be updated annually or semi-annually. It is neither designed nor intended to at any time be a comprehensive listing of all of the original work of the UWS community.
