This guide lists the various services offered through the Jim Dan Hill Library

Computer Commons

Technology Services manages a computer commons on the first floor of the library with a seating capacity of 36. Users must login with their UW-Superior Campus Network Account for access. This will be the same username and password that used to access campus email, E-Hive, and Canvas.

Scanners

Two computers in the library computer lab are equipped with HP Scanjet 5590 Digital Flatbed Scanners.

Guest Computer

Members of the public may use the guest computer located by the Public Services Desk for up to one hour.

  • Connected to the internet: Yes
  • Connected to a printer: No

Due to licensing restrictions, this computer does not have Microsoft Office products.

Laptop Computers

Windows laptops are available for checkout upon request at the Public Services Desk. Users must login with their UW-Superior Campus Network Account for access. This will be the same username and password that used to access campus email, E-Hive, and Canvas.

Information Stations

Public information stations (sometimes called computer kiosks) are available on every floor of the library for the purpose of browsing the library website, catalog, and databases.

These computers are intended for searching and browsing only. No printer connection is available.

Headphones

A number of over-the-ear and on-the-ear headphones are available for in-library use. You may request a set at the Public Services Desk.

Televisions & Media Players

Each Study Room is equipped with a TV monitor with a DVD/VHS combo player or a Blu-ray player.

Our five Blu-ray players were new in 2016!

Video Cameras

A collection of Kodak PlayFull Video Cameras are available on reserve at the Public Services Desk. These may be checked out by students and staff for three days.
