General Collection

Need art books, classic literature, grant writing resources, music scores, or scholarly books to support your research? Chances are that you'll find what you need in the General Collection!

The General Collection comprises the bulk of our print materials and includes tens of thousands of books selected by librarians and members of each department to meet your research needs in each discipline. Works in this collection are located on the Garden Level, shelved by Library of Congress call number.

Circulation Policy

Patron Group Checkout Period Renewals
Undergraduate Students 28 days up to 2 renewals
Graduate Students until end of term up to 3 renewals
Faculty & Staff until end of term up to 3 renewals
Community Users 28 days up to 1 renewal

Eligible items checked out from our collections may be renewed one of three ways:

  • online by using the renew function in My Account,
  • in person at the Public Services Desk, or
  • by calling 715-394-8343 during open library hours.

Distance Learning Students may ask us to ship library materials to their home address.
