British and Irish Womens Letters and Diaries spans more than 400 years of personal writings, bringing together the voices of women from England, Scotland, Ireland, and Wales. Complementing Alexander Streets North American Women's Letters and Diaries, the database lets researchers view history in the context of womens thoughtstheir struggles, achievements, passions, pursuits, and desires.
In addition to 60 volumes of Romantic poetry composed by Scottish women, the database includes extensive contemporary critical reviews and numerous scholarly essays specially commissioned for the project by Alexander Street Press.
