Find children's literature, including award winning titles

Finding Print Children's Books in the Library Catalog

Starting from the library's homepage, enter your search terms (which can include the author or book title) into the "Keywords" field and click the "Search@UW" button. Here is an example that searches for the words: llama llama

When the results have loaded, select the box next to "Educational Materials Collection, Second Floor" under "Refine My Results" (shown here in desktop view). Then select to "apply filters." (Note: To view this option, it may be necessary to first toggle the button to "expand to include items. . . " under "Refine My Results," as shown here.)

This will show results that are located within the Educational Materials Collection and it will indicate what is available. With this information, you can write the call number down and go to the second floor of the library and find the materials.

You can also place a "local request" for the book to be gathered and held for you at the checkout desk. If you click on the title of the book you are looking for. This will open the book's record. If you are not yet logged in, click "Sign In" under the "Get It" section.

After signing in, click the Local Request option in the Get It section.

From there, click the "Send Request" button.

You will receive an email when the library staff has gathered the book and it's ready for pick up.

Don't forget you can also use your own local library, they also have lots of children's materials.
