Databases present collections of content. Many of the library's databases for music collections include the full-text of articles from journals; others represent encyclopedias and multi-media content; and some, like Hoopla and Overdrive include more "popular" or "novice-friendly" digital resources such as ebooks and audiobooks.
This database includes several music encyclopedias, including the monumental Grove Dictionary of Music. Articles from Grove cover all types of music worldwide, from ancient times to the present, and typically include extensive bibliographies.

Music Online: The Garland Encyclopedia of World Music is a comprehensive online resource devoted to music research of all the worlds peoples. More than 9,000 pages of material and 300 audio recordings, combined with entries by more than 700 expert contributors from all over the world, make this the most complete body of work focused on world music.
A comprehensive collection of classical music available online. It includes the complete Naxos, Marco Polo and Dacapo catalogues of over 85,000 tracks, including classical, jazz, world, folk and Chinese music.
