OERs can be found in both OER repositories (digital collections of OER) and OER aggregators (tools that assist in the discovery and access of OERs including multiple repositories). OERs are often listed in multiple places online to increase the discoverability of the resource. When searching for OERs, be sure to note the Creative Commons license used and if the type of license aligns with your desired use for the resource.
Remember that open education is a growing field. Most OERs that currently exist are written for wide audiences and 100-level courses to have a wider impact on textbook affordability. If you are searching for an OER for an upper-level course, you may want to consider curating multiple resources in your Canvas course, such as openly licensed book chapters, journal articles from the library, and websites.
