Purpose of Guide

This guide is intended to help you organize and write a quality academic research paper. Also included are recommendations regarding how to manage specific course assignments. Note that if you have specific questions about how to write a research paper, you should always seek advice from your professor before you begin. Specific requirements stated by your professor will always supersede instructions provided in these general guidelines.

The UW-Superior Writing Center 

The Writing Center – located in Swenson Hall 1024 - provides free assistance to any and all UW-Superior students with the writing you do for your classes, no matter the subject. In particular, the sources below were consulted while developing this research guide. To facilitate further access to information about writing scholarly research papers and related academic endeavors, most text boxes include a bibliography of these sites as well as other print and online resources.
