1. Mailing Library Materials to Your Home

  • Eligibility: If you live outside of the Superior area, or need accommodations, the JDH Library can mail items directly to your home.

  • Materials: Books and DVDs

  • Cost: There is no charge for shipping library materials to your home.

  • Return Policy: While there is no charge for the initial shipment of library materials, all return shipping costs are the responsibility of the borrower.

  • How to Request:

2. Receiving Items at Another UW Campus Library

  • Eligibility: If you live near another University of Wisconsin (UW) campus, you can request JDH Library materials to be sent to the library of that campus. Please note that UW-Madison does not offer pick-up for items from other campuses. However, you can use your UWS ID to check out items directly from any UW campus in accordance with their campus policies.

  • Pickup: You will need your campus ID to check out the requested items.

3. Shipping Materials Requested via UW Resource Sharing or Interlibrary Loan

  • Materials: Items requested through UW Resource Sharing or Interlibrary Loan can also be shipped to your home address. Please note that these materials may take longer, as they have to be shipped to our library first and then mailed to you.

  • Notification Process:

  • Once you receive an email notification that the requested materials are available, reply to the email and request that the items be shipped to you.

  • Return Shipping: Borrowers are responsible for covering the cost of return shipping.

4. Returning Your Items

  • It is your responsibility to make sure your items are returned and received by the library.

  • As a reminder, while there is no charge for the initial shipment of library materials, all return shipping costs are the responsibility of the borrower.

  • Items can also be returned to the circulation desk at your nearest University of Wisconsin campus.

This policy ensures that students and faculty have convenient access to the resources they need, regardless of their location. For additional information or to request materials, please contact our Circulation Desk.
