Westlaw Campus

Have you tried our newest library database, Westlaw Campus Research? This news, business, and law research database replaced Nexus Uni in July. While it looks different, much of the same content is available through Westlaw Campus Research, and is easy to navigate through its intuitive search functions. If you have any questions about this transition or would like a tour of our new Westlaw Campus Research database, please contact us or schedule an appointment with a librarian.

OverDrive

Introducing OverDrive, a library platform allowing you to check out electronic and audio books. Patrons can use an app called Libby to checkout up to five books at a time for up to 21 days. If a book that you want is checked out, place a hold; you’ll be able to check it out once the item is returned. (OverDrive books that have a long holds list aren’t ideal for class reading assignments.) We recommend Overdrive and Libby to students who need to read a book but prefer to read digital or audio versions.

Gale Resources in Canvas

We’ve integrated Gale apps into Canvas! Now you can quickly import items from one of our five Gale products directly into your course at no additional cost:

  • Gale Academic OneFile Select
  • Gale In Context: Biography
  • Gale Literature Criticism
  • Gale OneFile: Business
  • Gale Primary Sources

If you need assistance using the Gale apps in Canvas, please watch Gale’s video tutorial, or reach out via our Instructional Support Form.

Open Educational Network

The CLIC@JDHL is proud to announce we are now a member of the Open Education Network, which helps educators create, adapt, and utilize Open Educational Resources. Our membership includes access to OER experts, a publishing cooperative for staff interested in creating materials, a community hub to support OER education efforts on campus, and a data dashboard to encourage the review of existing OER materials. This important resource will allow us to continue facilitating the use of open educational resources across campus.
