Spring 2023 Courses in Canvas

by CLIC @ JDHL on 2023-01-17T17:48:15-06:00 | 0 Comments

Many Spring 2023 courses are now available in Canvas. Classes beginning in a later session will be available 50 days before the class start date. Please email canvas@uwsuper.edu or fill out this help form if you need assistance locating your upcoming course, importing content from a previous course, or updating your course for this term.

As you prepare for this term, please keep the following guidelines in mind:

  • Import Specific Content: When you import content forward from a previous course, we recommend selecting just the specific items you need, to avoid creating duplicate items in your course. Also, please do not import the Student Information module or pages from previous terms; this information is now included in the Navigation menu of all Canvas courses. Watch for an upcoming workshop about how to prevent and clean up duplicate content in your course.
  • Nickname Your Courses: If you need to distinguish between your Canvas courses with the same name, remember to nickname your courses from the Canvas Dashboard. Nicknaming courses impacts your view in Canvas without changing your students’ view.
  • Publish Day: Academic Affairs encourages instructors to publish their course five days before your course’s official start date. Visit this page in our KnowledgeBase to read more about configuring course settings and publishing your course so students can access it.

Need Help? The CLIC continues to offer Zoom office hours on Wednesdays at 3:00pm and Thursdays at 9:00am for instructors and staff. Join us to ask questions about Canvas, get help designing your course, or explore new ways to assess your students’ learning.
