The CLIC@JDHL is sponsoring several instructional development and scholarship opportunities in Spring 2023. Please read the listings below for important upcoming RVSP deadlines on travel and funding.

UW System E-ffordability Summit

When: Tuesday, April 4, 2023 and Wednesday, April 5, 2023

Where: In-person at UW-Stout, Menomonie, WI

This year's theme is Sustainability in Open Education. From the conference website: “This event provides a venue to share knowledge, dismantle barriers, and identify ways to work together for our students […] to concentrate on one thing…providing quality, cost-effective education.”

Travel Details:

• The CLIC will sponsor a team of eight for group travel to this conference. Let us know if you are accepted as a presenter!
• Costs covered include lodging, rental cars, and meals within UW System policies. Registration is free for this conference.
• To join the travel team, RSVP by email to CLIC@uwsuper.edu by 4pm on Monday, February 27, 2023.

UW System Spring Joys of Teaching Conference: Centering Students

When: Thursday, April 20, 2023 and Friday, April 21, 2023

Where: In-person at Memorial Union, Madison, WI and via Zoom

This event's theme is Centering Students. From the conference website: “From the classroom to department meetings and from learning management systems to addressing mental health and wellbeing, student are the focus of our professional loves. In the past few years, we have increased our attention to centering our teaching practices are the 'whole student,' re-examining assessment strategies, updating curriculum, exploring teaching methods and modalities while increasing flexibility and compassionate responses to student needs.”

• The CLIC will sponsor a team of 12 people for group travel to this conference. Let us know if you are accepted as a presenter!
• Costs covered include registration, lodging, rental cars & meals within UW-System policies.

Faculty College: UW-System Teaching Retreat

When: May 30, 2023 – June 2, 2023

Where: In-person at Osthoff Resort, Elkhart Lake, WI

Faculty College is a four-day retreat with a campus team that will afford time and space for conversation, reflection, and future thinking about Teaching and Learning with a Social Justice lens. Despite its name, Faculty College is open to instructional staff in addition to faculty per UW System.

• Interested instructors should read the event website and FAQ sheet provided by UW System.
• Priority will be given by seniority in years (not rank) as well as to individuals that have never attended. There are five spots left to fill on this team for group travel to the retreat.
• Costs covered include registration, lodging, rental cars & meals within UW System policies.
