The University Archives contains the institutional memory and history of UW-Superior dating from its inception in 1893 as the Superior Normal School, to the current day as a member of the University of Wisconsin system. Here you will find links to both online catalogs of our physical holdings as well as digital repositories containing images, documents, and publications.
Please note that many artifacts and collections are still being processed and may not be listed just yet. If you’re looking for something in particular, have a question about the Archives, or need a recommendation of where else to look, feel free to contact us and we’ll be more than happy to help.
ArchivesSpace is our content management system containing finding aids (or catalogs) of our various archival collections. Here you can use the search function to find what you're looking for by name, category, or keyword. As ArchivesSpace has only been implemented for a short time, we are still in the process of adding archival records to it and its current contents are far from the totality of our holdings. Some categories may be empty and exist as placeholders for the moment. As previously noted, if you don't see what you're looking for, let us know, and we'll search through our unprocessed collections for you.
The UW-Superior ArcaSearch instance contains every issue of the Promethean stretching back to its first volume in 1920 when it was known as the Peptomist; a complete run of the Gitche Gumee yearbook from 1908 until 1972 when it ceased publication; and course catalogs from 1897 until 2012. You can page through these, keyword search their contents, and then download them as PDFs. If you need assistance with the interface, let us know and we'll lend a hand.

MINDS@UW is the digital repository for scholarly and other works created by students, staff, and faculty across each University of Wisconsin campus. Here you can find theses, literary journals, research, presentations, and much more.
