University Archives

This guide offers an overview of the UW-Superior Archives, highlighting collections that document the university’s history, people, and programs. It provides access to finding aids, digital materials, and guidance for conducting archival research.

About Us

The University Archives contains the institutional memory and history of UW-Superior dating from its inception in 1893 as the Superior Normal School, to the current day as a member of the University of Wisconsin system. Here you will find links to both online catalogs of our physical holdings as well as digital repositories containing images, documents, and publications.

Please note that many artifacts and collections are still being processed and may not be listed just yet. If you’re looking for something in particular, have a question about the Archives, or need a recommendation of where else to look, feel free to contact us and we’ll be more than happy to help.

ArchivesSpace

ArchivesSpace is our content management system containing finding aids (or catalogs) of our various archival collections. Here you can use the search function to find what you're looking for by namecategory, or keyword. As ArchivesSpace has only been implemented for a short time, we are still in the process of adding archival records to it and its current contents are far from the totality of our holdings. Some categories may be empty and exist as placeholders for the moment. As previously noted, if you don't see what you're looking for, let us know, and we'll search through our unprocessed collections for you.
