Although you can access your Zotero library from the web version, it is highly recommended to download Zotero's free software. This will allow you to save research with the click of a button and insert citations into a word processor as you are writing.
To download the software, go to Zotero's website here, and download the appropriate version for your personal computer. You can also download the browser connector on the same webpage.
While Zotero stores all data locally on your computer by default, Zotero's sync functionality allows you to access your Zotero library on any computer with Internet access. Follow these steps to sync your library to your web library:
1. Open the Zotero software, and click the Edit tab. Then click Preferences.
2. In the pop-up box, click the "Sync" tab. Then, type in your username and password, and click "Set Up Syncing." Then, check the boxes next to "Sync Automatically" and "Sync Full-Text Content." Then, click "Ok" to close the pop-up box.
3. Finally, whenever you would like to sync your Zotero library with your web library, click the green rotating arrow as pictured below to sync libraries.
