Canvas Quick Wins for Instructors
Improve your and your students’ experience in Canvas today based on student feedback and issues most-noted by instructors:
3 Quick Wins for Instructors
1) Use Assignments & Calendar to clarify expectations & due dates
Canvas Calendar is a great way to view everything you (and your students) have to do for all your courses in one place. You can view calendar events by day, week, month, or agenda list. The calendar also includes access to the Scheduler, which is an optional scheduling tool in Canvas.
As an instructor, you can update due dates and availability dates for multiple assignments and assessments in one location in your course. Additionally, if you previously assigned differentiated due dates for sections, students, or groups, you can bulk-update them. Due dates populate the Calendar feature, the Course Summary on the “Syllabus” page, and the Gradebook.
2) Use the To-Do List so students never miss a thing
Add Pages to your Students’ To-Do list on their Dashboard to help them manage their schedule and not miss important course content. Pages added to the To Do list also display in the course calendar and students' course sidebar To Do list.
3) Add your UWS Zoom to your course navigation bar to save yourself work & students from searching and asking for the link
Add the Zoom feature to your Course Navigation Menu, which will allow you to create and manage your synchronous meetings from inside the course; this also offers a consistent, easy-to-find place to join Zoom synchronous meetings.
