This fall, we're excited to offer many in-house opportunities for instructional & professional development. We hope to see you soon!
RSVP to clic@uwsuper.edu before 4pm on Thursday, September 22. There are eight spots available to receive a complimentary copy of the book. You can read the e-book via the Jim Dan Hill Library.
Through juicy storytelling and cutting original research, Montell exposes the verbal elements that make a wide spectrum of communities “cultish”, revealing how they affect followers of groups as notorious as Heaven’s Gate, but also how they pervade our modern start-ups, Peloton leaderboards, and Instagram feeds. Incisive and darkly funny, this enrapturing take on the curious social science of power and belief will make you hear the fanatical language of “cultish” everywhere.
Join in a noontime learning session on recent faculty research findings. All Research Spotlights will be held in the Jim Dan Hill Library, Room 233, and via Zoom. Sessions begin at noon.
Professor Augsburger will share her presentation titled Indigenous Zapotec language vitality in Oaxaca, Mexico: 25 years later.
Professor Goerdt will share her goals and process in creating an originally authored OER textbook: Macro Skills for Community & Organizational Change.
Course Tours are 30-minute noontime Zoom sessions comprised of a 10-15 minute tour of a UW-Superior course, followed by 15-20 minutes of conversation and idea-sharing. This is a quick, fun way to connect and expand your knowledge and practices in inclusive pedagogy. Sessions begin at noon.
Let’s face it: writing is hard. It’s hard to get started, hard to keep going, and hard not to bump the writing time we set aside in our schedules for other needs. However, you are not alone!
This monthly drop-in group will give you motivation, support, and –ahem—accountability on your writing goals. No RSVP needed and anyone at any point in the writing process is welcome. The only rule: make progress!
The Writing Accountability Group will meet via Zoom every other Tuesday, 4:00-5:15pm, through November.
The CLIC is happy to announce this new series featuring campus leaders in an informal setting, sharing their experiences and points of view on aspects of leadership in higher education. Join us for facilitated conversations in which everyone is encouraged to speak, ask questions, and learn. Everyone is welcome to attend.
We've scheduled these late in the day and in person in order to increase opportunities for community-building events on campus for employees.
