Periodicals

 

The periodical collection at Jim Dan Hill Library contains approximately 800 current print newspaper, journal, and magazine titles, as well as a large number of electronic and microform titles. These titles are carefully chosen to support the University curriculum and may not be checked out by library patrons.

A listing of Jim Dan Hill Library's periodical holdings (electronic, microform, and print) is available online. Print periodicals are also listed in the library's catalog. The catalog provides accurate information about the location of individual periodical titles and should be checked if you can not find your periodical with the following general location information:

 

Journals

Paper issues that are current or up to 10 years old are located on the 1st floor periodical shelves, arranged alphabetically by title.

Paper issues older than 10 years are in basement storage.  As at the public services desk for retrieval.

Microfiche and microfilm issues are located in the microform cabinets on the 1st floor.

Government journals are located by SUDOC number in government documents on the 2nd floor.

Electronic versions of a variety of journals are available through the links found here.

 

Newspapers

Current paper issues are located in the reading area on the 1st floor.

Microfiche and microfilm of older issues of the NYT and WSJ are located in the microform cabinets.

Magazines (popular)

Current paper issues are located in the reading area on the 1st floor.

Latest paper issues up to 10 years are located on the 1st floor periodical shelves, arranged alphabetically by title.
