Professional Development in Library Science Scholarships

The Ed and Amy Greve Professional Development in Library Science Scholarships are competitive scholarships that are awarded twice a year to help Library Science students at UW-Superior to attend library science and related conferences.

  • Library Science Minors or Library Science Certification students at UW-Superior are eligible.

  • Scholarships are awarded for $400.00 or for the cost of registration, food, lodging, and travel, whichever is less.

  • Scholarship money to be used to attend professional conferences or events related to the library science field.

The Library Science Program reserves the right not to award any scholarships in any given year. Questions should be addressed to the Chair of the Library Science Program, University of Wisconsin-Superior, Belknap and Catlin, Superior, WI 54880-4500.

Procedures

Applications for conferences need to be received well in advance of the conference:

  • Apply by March 7th for conferences occurring between July 1 and December 31

  • Apply by November 30th for conferences occurring between January 1 and June 30

Applicants should provide the Library Science Program with the following:

  1. Filled out application form (attached--open, print, and fill out)

  2. An essay about:

    1. What you hope to gain from attending the conference

    2. How you will share knowledge gained at the conference with the library community

  3. Two (2) letters of recommendation (from persons not on the UW-Superior Library Science faculty) to support your professional development scholarship application.
